Colour temperature is measured in kelvin — it is what makes light feel warm like candlelight or cool like noon.
At home we always start from warmth: 3000K for bedrooms, majlis and living rooms, where we want calm and belonging.
3500K–4000K is a comfortable balance for dining rooms, corridors and entrances; 4000K suits kitchens and workspaces that need clarity and focus.
6000K–6500K is used in specific work areas such as storerooms and basements, and sometimes in garages.
The most common mistake is mixing temperatures in one room — walls look two-toned and the space loses its identity.
The rule: one temperature per space; change the mood with dimming and scenes, not with kelvin.
